Karin Boye

Born in Hamburg, Germany, Karin Boye was ordained more than 27 years ago in the Lutheran Church (EKD). Her professional journey led her to serve in different capacities in congregations of various sizes in England, Germany and the United States. For many years Pastor Karin taught at seminary. In summer 2001, when she and her husband settled in Southern California, she had left the position of the Senior Pastor in a suburban, 5,900-member congregation and the challenging task of hosting a weekly morning show on German National Television (SAT1).

At Ascension Pastor Karin is serving her fifth intentional interim. She is certified as a Mediator (Orange County Human Relations) and Supervisor (Saddleback College) and received intensive training in the area of Pastoral Psychology. She loves the “God stuff in transition”.

Together with 4 cats Pastor Karin and her husband, a psychologist, are living in San Marcos, San Diego Northcounty. She enjoys walking, going to the gym, reading and going to the movies (if she has the time for it). With no relative on this continent except a cousin in Wisconsin, she tries to travel to Germany once a year, to see her parents, her brother, and family and friends.
