Enhanced availability and reduced costs boost Germany’s market for renewable energy

A step in the right direction

Germany’s renewable energy sources, like wind and solar power, even biomass energy, once again broke records in the first half of 2014. Traditional energy sources, on the other hand, suffered loss in production and consumption. Even after adjusting for temperature fluctuation, gas consumption still fell by around 7 percent. In addition to that the German Wind Energy Association (BWE) also announced that Germany is on track to create a record amount of wind energy capacity by the end of this year.

If we move on like that, the BWE expects a total production capacity of 3.5 megawatts for the wind parks in Germany at the end of 2014.
